Sol Costa Atlantis

This hotel is very well positioned for the main attractions of Puerta De La Cruz. It is near the Lido and not uphill. Public rooms are very nice but bedrooms are a little worn and tired looking. Wonderful selection of food but unfortunately usually cold.

Booked a short winter break for a spot of sun and decided to go a for sea front Hotel this time as the hills of Puerto de la Cruz were very off putting for my wife as she has a knee problem at present.The lobby as you go in is nice, airy and spacious and clean and welcoming. The Reception staff were friendly enough, but seemingly a bit understaffed at busy times....Off to the room via one of the 3 lifts, and open the door. First thoughts were that I was in a 70s British hotel! Actually, it's not that bad really, but the furniture and decor have all seen better days, probably 5 years ago... Facilities comprise a clean en suite, (lashings of hot water) but again a bit tired inside. Chairs and tables and one socket. Safe, which costs... and decent wardrobe space.TV is all in German/Spanish apart from an intermittent American cable news channel... bring a laptop and tap into a stream for TV is my recommendation, as the wi-fi is excellent, once you get past the password systems which I couldn't with my Android phone!No kettle of other similar facility.The beds are weird, hard but surprisingly comfortable BUT, and it is huge BUT, the truly horrible mattress liners are dreadful. As it was pretty warm for 3 nights, I could sleep on top of the duvet to avoid the plastic wrinkles and creases and the crackling noises, from keeping me awake! HORRIBLE!!Cleaning was good and towels swapped as required.Buffet brekkie is Eurostandard, but not bad at all... Staff are super and work like Trojans keeping tables cleared etc. They struggled on a few occasions but were unfailingly charming and polite.Supper buffet was good value at 19 Euros we felt, good choices that vary every night and again really nice staff. We ate there 3/5 nights and enjoyed trying the various little tasters. I really enjoyed the fish from the hot plate! Drinks are a tad pricey, but Tenerife is deffo more expensive since I was last there two years ago :-(The In-Out bar was I found, a pretty souless with poor service from the staff the two times I went for a nightcap. The 2nd night, the place was empty, and I still waited 5 mins for a whiskey to be served.... I went down the road to a bar afterwards...Other facilities such as the pool were not used as the weather was a bit wintry during our stay! The indoor swimming and spa facilities on the top floor are quite expensive and this was not mentioned in the brochures....

Was expecting far more than we got at this hotel the rating of 4 star would maybe give for the position of hotel but there it stops, in brochure it stated that there was indoor pool but forgot to mention you had to pay to go in ,can't quite remember the costing but do remember it had a time limit of 2 hours, same in room no basic facilities or tea/ coffee did organise at a cost of 6 Euro per day but after 4 days cancelled this as refilled only once . On a positive note restaurant and bar staff were lovely , reception staff not so good .

the only reason for marking this hotel down was the pool ,it was in the shade most of the day, as was the rest of the pool area , so sunbathing was a no go , unless you went on the sea front. apart from that the hotel , all staff ,and the food were excellent

Great Hotel in a brilliant location.Staff very helpful and friendly. Could do with more staff in the restaurant as we had pratically finished our meals most nights before we got asked what drink we wanted.Couldnt get a glass of wine either at the table.When I asked was told I had to buy a bottle.Overall though Hotel and rooms are loveley. Spotless.Pool is nice but have to pay up to 65 euro's to use a Bali bed by the pool.We went out of season so I should imagine trying to get a sunbed in season would be a nightmare.Hotel not really for children as no animation team.Should be an adults only hotel.

Lovely hotel, sea views Room and view fantastic. food nice, lots of choice No English tv, all German channels, could have been some English channels. Poor choice of alcohol and expensive Maids excellent and staff

The Sol Costa Atlantis is a very good hotel in a good location. On the ocean side it has amazing views from the rooms and you can watch many people attempting to 'surf' on the never ending waves. The room was clean and adequate for our holiday needs. We had to request tea/coffee making equipment which was €6 per day (a bit steep) but we later found out that the kettle alone was free. You also pay €3 per day for the safe. The meals were good if a bit mediocre. Some of the fish was best, but when I picked up one of my favourites, Lasagne, it was not very well cooked and I didn't eat it. The pool is good and surprisingly, the sun shines into the pool area almost all day. You have easy access through a secure gate to the beach which always offers good views and a variety of entertainment, sunbathing, swimming, surfing, photography etc. There is a local supermarket nearby and some nice beach-side cafes. The entertainment in the hotel is OK, the usual vocalist(s) and instrumentalists providing music to listen or dance to. Three ladies gave a demonstration of Spanish Dancing one evening which we enjoyed. We did find the beds/mattresses a little hard which made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Not sure what could be done about this, and we did not take this up with the hotel. I think the reception staff are very good and it is worth asking them about most things as they will always have something to say.

This hotel was excellent in style, comfort and customer friendly. Checking in and out were very easy. All enquiries were dealt with professionally. House keeping was excellent. Within 2 hours of reporting a broken sink it was totally replaced brilliant. The hotel despite having its own restaurant is situated close to a number of very good restaurants.

Stayed for a week here, lovely area,hotel and people. Can't fault the hotel, everything was lovely. Didn't Stay around the pool area as some towels were out by 07:30. We hired a car and travelled the island or went to the Lido.

This hotel and holiday with jet2 was almost perfect. Haven't got anything bad to say about jet2. There staff were friendly and they were Sharpe. Their service was outstanding. Only reason I have have a 4 is because a couple of the employees at the hotel were dore faced and they looked liked they have gave up on life. The second is jet2 plane seat are like park benches apart from that awsome. Would highly recommend them o will definitely be booking my next trip with them.
