Enjoy a Taste of Little Venice in Puerto Mogan
With its many canals and luxury marina, Puerto Mogan has earned the nickname “Little Venice”. But this could also be attributed to the beauty of the quaint resort. As you wander through the streets of white-washed houses decorated with bougainvillea you will find the charm of a traditional Spanish fishing village irresistible.
The beach in Puerto Mogan is a popular area for families, with its golden sand, which was imported from the Sahara, and numerous sun loungers and parasols. Set back from the beach is the promenade which offers a veritable array of restaurants and shops to keep you busy in the afternoon sun.
With there being so much water around the area, Puerto Mogan offers excellent watersport opportunities. Snorkelling and scuba diving are two of the more popular activities but you'll also enjoy paragliding and possibly a yellow submarine trip!
Chilled Out Restaurants and Bars
You won’t find a soundtrack of blaring tunes from clubs and bars in Puerto Mogan, instead an ambient hum of chatter and soft local music fills the air as tourists settle into restaurants for an evening of al fresco dining.
Catch of the day specialities are popular dishes in the restaurants and you will find plenty of traditional flavours on offer. Many of the restaurants offer excellent views over the marina and bay from their elevated location set in the hills. The atmosphere is very laid back around Puerto Mogan and it's the perfect place to relax on the picturesque island of Gran Canaria.
