Fantastic Beaches for a Relaxing Holiday in Ialyssos, Rhodes
All along the seafront, hotels back the long shingle beach which is laid out with rows of sun beds and coloured parasols for lazing by the sea. The inviting sea is safe for swimming and the bay is also one of the top spots for windsurfers, with a world championship held here in 2007 and lessons available at the windsurfing club.
Eating Out Whilst on Holiday in Ialyssos, Rhodes
Beach bars and tavernas provide snacks and refreshments, with a good choice of restaurants for leisurely meals. The hotels, music bars and some clubs provide evening entertainment but Rhodes town is a better bet for a big night out.
Fabulous Ancient Ruins to See Whilst on Holiday in Ialyssos, Rhodes
Ten minutes walk inland from the beach resort, the picturesque hilltop village of Ialyssos is founded on the site of one of the three original cities of Rhodes, dating back to around 500BC! Ancient ruins, architecture and monuments are interesting to explore, with panoramic views over the surrounding hills and olive groves. The atmospheric centre of old Ialyssos is also a wonderful place for a taste of timeless village life in one of the traditional tavernas.
