Alfagar Cerro Malpique Apartments

This is our 7th time staying at these apartments. Rooms are clean, staff friendly, quite, great views, only one thing about this hotel the main block doesn't have air con, only a few mins walk to Aldi. Pool area clean, plenty of sunbeds. We walked down the many steps to the main square, and a Taxi back about 4 euros.

The hotel is split across two sites so you may find you are quite away from reception, I believe there is a pool bar in the main part of the hotel but we didn’t use it because of the walk. The rooms are vastly different so make sure you are specific in what you want when booking, for example we had Aircon in our living room and bedroom were our other family members had none. The hotel is clean as are the rooms, well maintained gardens and pool areas. The kitchens in the self catering apartments are adequate although there is no oven just a hob and combination microwave, toaster etc saying that we ate out most of the time. The hotel is situated quite away from the town centre up some quite steep paths and steps, However it is usually quiet unless there is any stag groups staying! An advantage is that it it very close to two supermarkets an Aldi and Lidl just five minutes walk away. We have stayed here twice now and have enjoyed both times with just a few little niggles.

Apartment a bit dated but clean. It was a bit noisy at 4am when the stags and hens returned and didn't like the 100 steps down to old town and all the graffiti on the way down but taxis cheap enough if you don't want to walk back up them. Would I return to these apartments? Probably not.

Stayed in Cerro Malpique with husband for 10 days. Room was ready as soon as we arrived which was great as we expected to be waiting around for a few hours. The staff on reception were very friendly & helpful. Our room (103) was lovely & clean on arrival & was cleaned every 3/4 days including fresh towels & bedding. Managed to get a sunbed everyday. Was ideal location for the Old Town. loved it here & met some very nice people from Darlington & a lovely Irish family 😊💛☀️Oh & josephs bar around the corner was the best for delicious food.

Would not recommend this apartment to anybody this is certainly not self catering accomodation only a hob and microwave no oven or grill blinds and curtains held up with string or falling of windows one frying pan and two pots considering this was called a superior two bedroom apartment it was awful.

No hot water for 2 days at the top of 100 steps and then 3 banks only for fit people. No maid service until I asked for it. Beds were rally noisy so every time you turned over it felt like it woke you up with the noise.

Great , clean, friendly hotel, great location, abit dated but a great 3 star hotel, and spotless too , enjoyed our time here . We had a studio apartment on the bottom floor room 307 near lift so a little noise at night but quickly stopped by Staff looking after the holiday makers, overall a good stay at cerro malpique apartments , will definitely go again .

Booked this holiday as a package deal, we like to go self catering so we aren't stuck to times for eating and we love finding new places to eat and drink. First of all we were told on the transfer check in would be approximately 3pm, we arrived around 12pm and were let straight into our room. We were given a map showing us how to get to the supermarkets and old town. Both of which are a short walk away. The room was large, we didn't pay for a view but we could see the pool and the gardens from our room which was nice. The kitchen was extremely well equipped we even had a dishwasher. The room were cleaned every other day as advertised and we received fresh towels. I've seen a lot of review mention the steps up from the old town. We counted and I think there is 100 and they are steep but if you take your time you certainly get used to them and there are always plenty of taxis if you really don't want to climb them. The rooms don't have air con, we took a fan with us and this was sufficient for us. The pool area is clean, there was new sunbeds after a couple of days with was a bonus. There is also a pool bar which was open from around 10am until 6pm and the trainee working on it was very friendly. There is a small shop just around the corner from the hotel which is convenient for getting water and other essentials you don't want to carry far, but it is slightly more expensive. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly return to this hotel.

Good location only 10 minutes walk into the Old Town but very hilly so you need to be quite fit - Or use local taxis for around €4. .Nice spacious apartments but in need of some updating and we had no air conditioning. The apartments have everything you need. Pool area nice but again lots of steps as a rooftop area. Plenty of sumbeds and umbrellas. Poolside bar serves drinks 10 - 6pm.

Room very dated, cracked tiles in bathroom, broken fridge, lights not working, air con not working. Towels were very poor quality. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful, but this did not make up for the state of the rooms. Would NOT stay in this accommodation again.
