SOLYMAR Gran Hotel Formerly Gran Hotel Sol Y Mar

This hotel exceeds its 4 Star rating, it’s the best hotel I have stopped in in Europe. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the facilities are second to none and the cleanliness is fantastic. We love the Breakfast you could have anything really the buffet was replenished regularly and the staff were wonderful. Our room had everything you need and was cleaned on a daily basis, linen was changed daily and you could also have pool towels in the leisure area. One downside was the pool area was small compared to the amount of guests but that is a minor detail. Sol Y Mar markets itself as an unusual hotel. After a visit the only thing I could find unusual was no children. Bedrooms are standard hotel rooms and beware we booked and paid for a sea view but were allocated a side sea view room. The food is however much better standard than the usual buffet. We visited the restaurant Abiss and enjoyed the food there very much.

Great hotel , child free and great facilities , food excellent , room fab , no negatives , amazing view from the dining room, good entertainment in the evening , lift from hotel takes you straight down to a supermarket

This was our second stay here this year. What a wonderful place. Top quality service, food and standard. Won't be long till we go back. If you are looking for a superb hotel in great location with everything to hand, this is the best.

Firstly, its location at the bottom of the main shopping street yet on the promenade and metres from the beach could not be beach could not be better. It has its own supermarket in the basement. Rooms are copacious and beds super comfortable. Food in the restaurant is good and staff very friendly. Downsides are external pool is relatively small and crowded and it costs 20 euro/pp for 90 minutes use of the internal pool and spa, more at weekends - a shame because that's a deal breaker for us, we won't be returning.

This is a beautiful hotel in a very good location. The food was excellent and staff extremely friendly and helpful. The pool area is a little small but was ok during our stay in May but during the peak season it may get overcrowded.

The floor to ceiling windows in the lobby (and restaurant) provide an excellent place to relax and enjoy the stunning beach and promenade. Unfortunately the weather while we were there was not warm enough for us to use the amazing infinity pool but it looks absolutely fabulous.

The Gran Hotel Sol y Mar exceeded our .expectations . It certainly lived up to its name of Grand Hotel. We were impressed by the efficiency and courtesy of all the staff we came in contact with.The position was excellent for someone with walking difficulties , everything we needed being in easy reach.

Good hotel in excellent location overlooking the beach. Staff were polite well trained and very helpful.Room immaculate and worth the extra for sea view. Only had breakfast this was very good with excellent choice. Only downside there were not enough sun beds for everyone around pool. Pool however was good.

My husband and I stayed at the Gran Hotel Sol y Mar over Christmas this year. It is a lovely hotel and the rooms were very spacious and exactly as described on the website. We used to live in Spain so knew Calpe and decided to book this hotel as it was central for us to visit friends. We were on bed and breakfast and the choice of food on offer was excellent, lots of different choices. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others. It is in the centre of Calpe by shops and also the beach and promenade. Considering it was in the town centre, the bedrooms were very quiet at night, no noise from the outside.

Excellent hotel located right on the beach. Friendly and efficient staff. Great food, the only drawback is that the dining room does not open in the evening until 19.30, so if you like to eat early then only book bed and breakfast.

Hotel in idyllic setting almost on the beach. Lovely swimming pool with Bar. Breakfast and evening meal excellent, staff very helpful with a smile. Very clean. Recommend the sea view room, very spacious with separate bath and shower cubicle.

Amazing and highly recommend. High standard and quality throughout. Always clean and staff couldn't do enough to help. Food was absolutely delicious. Ideally located for shopping and right next to the beach. Loads to explore and do. Nightlife is great with loads of places to eat out at too.
