Hotel Artiem Carlos

This is a lovely small hotel where you immediately feel at home. All of the staff are marvellous - very attentive and keen to make sure the guests are all having a good holiday . The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The food in the restaurant is plentiful, fresh and varied . All in all , a great holiday .

Excellent holiday from beginning to the end .Great location brilliant views from the hotel,all the staff were very friendly.Local restaurants very good only grievance we had was we didn't know when the rep was coming to the hotel until we looked in the library were the jet 2 holiday file was .We thought it would have been in our welcome pack when we arrived

This was a return visit, having stayed here 3 years previously. The facilities are excellent, the staff friendly, helpful and always polite. The ideal place for a relaxing holiday, within easy walking distance of the little harbour with its shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast (lots of choice) as well as the evening entertainment. Rooms were immaculate, beds comfortable and bathrooms well-equipped. We would definitely like to come back again in the future.

The hotel was in a fantastic location for exploring Faro. It was clean and well maintained. It was undergoing some refurbishment but it didn't affect us other than the number of skips on the pavement outside our balcony. Great gym facilities and easy to use. Fantastic breakfasts with amazing views form the top floor.

We stayed for seven nights at the end of May/beginning of June. From check-in to check-out, all staff we encountered were unfailingly friendly, professional and helpful. There were three generations of us (seven people) and we all had sea-view rooms on the third floor (without having to ask to be sited close together). Views were lovely. We stayed B&B and, as previous reviewers have stated, breakfast was excellent in terms of variety and quality. On several days we had lunch at the pool bar. Service with a smile, and tasty food. Position is good for walking into Villacarlos for evening meals at the restaurants round the harbour. No 'hard sell' here - you can peruse menus without being accosted by over-eager staff. We didn't have a bad meal and ate at a different restaurant every night. The walk from the hotel took us upwards of 39 minutes as my 80 year old mum was with us so we took it easy. Overall I can't recommend this hotel home highly enough. A John Lewis type experience - staff seem to have been trained to be patient and friendly. We also noticed that the staff were supportive to one another - a lovely ethos.

We just love this hotel... the location, the food, the rooms, the staff are all first class. We have stayed here 3 times now, and plan to return this year again. It is close enough to Mahon if you want to walk, and close to the harbour with little restaurants which are fabulous.

When we last visited here years ago it was a tired Hotel but the refit had changed it into an excellent place to spend a holiday. Tried to think of an negative but the only one was that the toast machine was slow. It was that good!

Stayed for 6 nights in August, excellent hotel, customer service second to none, nothing was too much trouble. We were bed & breakfast with jet 2, ate in the hotel 5 nights as the only night we ate in the harbour at cala fonts nearby it was difficult to get a table, and was quite expensive and didn't compare to the food and choice in the hotel. Lovely atmosphere, very peaceful easy to get sunbeds everyday, cleaners everyday in the room couldn't fault them. We upgraded to a premium drinks package which was available during our stay that was excellent value too! Only tiny negative was the treadmills in the gym could do with upgrading. Would definitely stay again no hesitation.

excellent hotel and staff very pleasant and very helpful. food and wine first class . easy walking distance to centre of town. hotel rooms very modern and cleanliness exceptional. only one criticism, our room was at the end of a corrider and overlooking the kitchens and was quite noisy late evening and morning. we did ask to get another room but were met with a negative response from one particular female on reception who was no help at all. overall would recommend and would return again.

Fantastic hotel with an excellent view . food was great with an excellent selection including show grill every day Staff very amenable and accomodating Hotel very clean ,close to the harbour The free wifi sometimes dropped out but was only a minor niggle in what was a great week

Great food, staff probably the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. Great views from restaurant, pool and room We will definately return to this fab hotel in the near future. Might opt for a corner or jacuzzi room next time

We stayed at the hotel Atriem Carlos in Es Castellllo in July 2016. The hotel was absolutely fabulous including our sea view room which was a good size and spotlessly clean, the choice of food for breakfast and particularly for evening diner was the best we have experienced in many years of staying in good 4 and 5 star hotels. We were particularly surprised by the good quality of entertainment during the evening, which we were not expecting. However one draw back is that Es Castell has very little holiday atmosphere and not really a holiday town, although Cala Fonts next to Es Castell does have small shops and restaurants.

Third visit in three years. The Carlos III is perfect for a relaxing holiday. The staff are outstanding. Pity the hotel does not seem to be available for 2017. Can't find out why! The food quality, although always high, seemed even better this year.

Great hotel lovely location. Shame no beaches close by. Town of Mao only twenty minute walk or buses quite regular. If you want to travel the other end of the island by bus only an hours journey.plenty of history about the island to keep you interested.
