Hotel Vasco Da Gama

Many things to like about this hotel such as location, food and staff. However, the accommodation itself is a bit tired. Old tiles with cracks and dated furniture in desperate need of updating. The fridge didn’t work and the old tv had a distorted picture. I twice complained about the fridge, but when nothing was done I couldn’t be bothered to complain about anything else. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and perhaps the other rooms are in better condition. So I wouldn’t want to put anyone off from staying here, but my room was definitely in need of a refurbishment.

good hotel.stopped there before.room needs updating.would have liked a better room.it had no sun on the balcony at all.great location for beach and town.used the gym,first time ever.very young children were in one day with no one controlling or supervising them!pool depth signage could be displayed more prominent.did not eat in the evenings at the hotel,preffered to eat out.breakfast was good,

This hotel is a bit dated but the location is fabulous. It is very clean and the staff from reception and the maids are very efficient and friendly. We only stay bed and breakfast but there is lots of choice. The hotel is practically on the beach. We have been several times and will be going again. Our only criticism is there are only 2 English channels on the satellite TV.

great breakfast full english buffet ......great staff excellent location .....motegordo is getting an uplift and will look great when complete which is almost there .......the hotel would be A1 with a bit of a refurbishment

we have stayed at this hotel a number of times and our recent visit did not disappoint. Our room was fantastic, always pay that bit extra for a sea view. Staff are friendly ,helpful and pleasant. Only negative was that a large number of guests had obviously got up at the crack of dawn to place their towels on sun beds ,very annoying !

Stayed here six years ago, and am.pleased to say the hotel is even better now. Our room was an updated one, but we were pleased to find the main areas retained their Portuguese charm. The staff, always helpful, seemed to smile a bit more and the restaurant food was much improved. The hot buffet was exactly that, the salad and fruit choices were amazing and the deserts plentiful. The outdoor areas had also been updated and there were always p!entry of lounges and sunshades. We will return.

How do you describe a hotel which is one of the oldest in the Algarve and probably lacks the shine and polish of the newer ones? With no difficulty whatsoever. Refurbishment has developed aspects which were in need of attention and a natural ambience, the homely atmosphere of a hotel where personal service and friendliness as at the centre of its operation remains the key to the VDG. The more one visits the more it becomes a club where one meets friends old and new and yet the quality does nit diminish..

Fantastic location, right on the beach. Hotel was very clean and staff were so helpful. A great place to relax and unwind. It was exactly what we were needing and the weather did not disappoint either
