St Raphael Resort

Hotel facilities fantastic staff helpful and friendly and must be saints to put up with some guests and still smile.although it is outside of limmasol the area is being developed and a short bus ride to the centre.

We arrived at this hotel on a Wednesday evening and were staying for 2 weeks, first appearance was amazing and the hotel was lovely, room could do with updating but we don't stay in the room enough for this to affect us. the beach was lovely but if you weren't down there by 7:30 with your towel then you had no chance of getting a sunbed but there were always spaces by the pool. food was amazing and always a good variety, the separate meze restaurant was also amazing we had this twice at no extra cost. Bad points and probably points that would make me not go back... they have wedding receptions on at weekends, one evening the music went on until 3am!!! and it was so loud we could get no sleep whatsoever until the music had finished, I called reception 3 times starting at 1:15 and got told it would be finishing in 15 minutes each time. I went and complained the next morning but to be honest they didn't seem to care, I appreciate that the wedding party wanted to enjoy themselves but when you have worked hard to pay for an almost £3000 holiday you expect to be able to sleep!!!!! Also the first 5 days they had a large group (mainly men) of forces personnel who were there on rest, this is a family resort so was shocked that they let them in, they caused a nuisance and you couldn't get a seat in the evening at the captains terrace because it was full of these, also around the pool in the day they were noisy and loud in the pool. you couldn't get anywhere near the pool bar and they ended up getting out of hand and throwing sun beds in the pool...not what you want when children are around.

Negatives 1st. Bathrooms could do with a bit updating, grouting and uneven tiles. Balcony very small. Food in buffet especially the evening plates just warm, and choice limited. Only 1 bar in the evening for drinks and if you want to sit outside and are not a smoker be prepared for lots of people around you smoking. An outside no smoking area would be great, or sectioned off for smokers/non smokers. Now the good points. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Rooms adequate and clean. Carpeted corridors and slow self close doors so no door banging which is great for sleep. Never a problem getting sun beds no matter what time of day either around the pool, on the beach or on the grass. Food at the splash bar for lunch very good and hot, sea shells on beach very good for drinks and sandwiches. Went for meze 1 night which was lovely. Check out time was 12 noon and we asked if we could keep the room until 2pm this was not a problem and there was no charge. All inclusive finishes at 2.30pm on day of departure. Safe in room free. Tea & coffee in room and water free. Wi-fi limited but enough free. Mini bar was chargeable. Nice walk along the paved prom. Despite the few negatives we enjoyed our holiday, and would return.

Just came back after a week at St Raphael. I can't complain really, food was absolutely fantastic, service outstanding, nice, clean, they do look after you. Only thing i would change is entertainment. They did try to do some pool games and aerobics, but that lasted maybe 30 mins out of the day and they didn't try to get people involved. There was no music by the pool which i found a bit depressing. Entertainment on a night wasn't too good either. Went down few times, once we left straight away as everything was in Russian! Overall beautiful hotel and grounds, they treat you like a king but they should try to entertain you a bit more :)
