Prado do Golf

Overall a good holiday, we wanted a relaxing break, which is what we got, the apartment was clean and furnished to a decent standard, the pool area was clean and there were plenty of sinners, but could have done with more umbrella' s, the bistro was clean and the food was very good and prices reasonable, the only complaint was the beds, they were extremely hard, like sleeping on a board, the pillows were also hard these it turned out to be lumps of foam rubber sewn into pillow cases very uncomfortable

We stayed for 10 nights in the Prado do Golf in June 2017. Overall we were very satisfied. We had a spacious two bedroom self catering apartment close to the pool and bar. The bedrooms each had two single beds and were of adequate size, Large good standard bathroom with bath/shower. Kitchen/diner space also large and had fridge/freezer, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee percolator and adequate range of pots pans etc. We had a problem with the hob because the knobs were not marked properly and there was no way to tell if they were on or off. This was immediately rectified when we reported it. Lounge dining area adequately furnished and there was a TV but we did not use that. The patio area had a barbeque plus table and chairs.The apartment was clean and was kept that way. There was a maid service that came in every couple of days to sweep, clear waste bins, replace toilet rolls etc. The swimming pool is quite large and was thoroughly cleaned and maintained every day . Adequate number of sunbeds but only a couple of umbrellas. We were told this was because high winds had damaged them and new ones were on order. There is a bar and bistro run by an English couple by the pool. We did not use this a great deal as we were self catering and as planned we went to different restaurants in the main town every evening. The bistro had a good range of mainly english style food. One drawback is that although it does breakfast its advertised opening is 10.00 am but on the first (and only) occasion we went there for breakfast it did not in fact open until 11.00 . What food we did have from the bar was good though and service was good. San Miguel on tap.The gardens are attractive and well maintained. Lots of steps and uneven paths though, so not the place for you if you have mobility issues. There was a manned reception available all day (except from 1 to 2. which was unfortunately we arrived) . Receptionist was helpful and gave gave us local maps told us where the supermarket was etc.There is a spar supermarket within 5 minutes walk. It had everything we needed for self catering. It has an ATM outside. It is a long way from the town centre and Marina. 45 min to walk, although it is a pleasant walk. This was OK for us as we like walking but many would see it as a problem, There are bus stops right outside the gates of the apartments though. Best restaurants are in the squares. The ones around the marina are expensive and not as good.

We stayed for 7 nights and really enjoyed the friendly and laid back approach. This place is not for you if you like it to be lively as it is really peaceful. I would recommend the use of a car as it is a really really long walk to the sea front. We hired a car and this made the holiday. The apartment a spacious, clean and a the air-conditioning was fantastic. The snacks and service at the bar are definitely worth a try.

This is a very nice laid out resort with varied accomodation.Our 1 bedroom villa was comfortable and large layout. Fully fitted kitchen with full oven, microwave toaster, kettle etc. Nice bathroom with 2 sinks shower / bath The patio had sun from 14.00 till 19.09 The shutters and door are need of some TLC
