You’re shore spoilt for choice

Sitges makes the most of its location on the Costa Barcelona with a huge variety of beaches to choose from, many of which are conveniently connected by the 2km long promenade the Passeig Maritim. Ribera Beach is a favourite, thanks to its size and proximity to the centre of town. If you’re feeling brave enough, there are a few nudist beaches too, including Platja d’Aiguadolc and Platja dels Balmains. And even though it only offers a relatively small strip of sand, Platja de la Rodona is the most popular gay beach in Sitges.

A source of fascination

As a favoured spot for artists for hundreds of years, Sitges has an enduring cultural legacy. You’ll discover this at the Cau Ferrat Museum. It was the brainchild of the modernista art movement’s founder, Santiago Rusinol. Inside, you’ll see a spellbinding collection of ceramics, ironwork and glassware.

Luckily, this is not the only place of artistic interest in Sitges. The Maricel Museum has more than 3000 works spanning several centuries, while the Romanticism Museum has an extensive collection of artworks and curiosities.

A very friendly destination

Sitges is often recognised as one of the most gay-friendly places in the world. There is a Gay Pride Festival staged every summer in the town and there’s an impressive array of gay bars too. Cocktail bars, karaoke and drag acts all make a welcome appearance here.
