New York Holidays

Show on Map

When you arrive in the city that never sleeps, you’ll soon realise why cheap holidays to New York are so popular. Whether you are taking a city break during the summer, when the crisp air and clear blue skies create a city experience rivalled by few, or you are taking in some Christmas shopping amongst snow-blanketed skyscrapers, New York has an infectious, relentless pace.

During a cheap holiday in New York you could be strolling around Central Park one minute before giving the credit card a full work out on Fifth Avenue the next.

A Unique Shopping Experience

We’ve all seen the images of glamorous people walking down Fifth Avenue with bags full of designer gifts or scarf and hat clad couples doing their Christmas shopping with a sprinkling of snowflakes in the air. Well, shopping in New York truly is an experience.

There are designer boutiques forming an orderly cue of who’s who of brands along Fifth Avenue and nearby streets, and then there are side streets with plenty of little gems to discover. When on a cheap holiday in New York, you should treat yourself to a memento (the I heart NY tee-shirt is a given) – it’s a great excuse to splash out.

Fine Dining and Sipping Beverages

The food on offer during a cheap holiday in New York is amazing. From the street corner hotdog vendors to lavish upper-Manhattan restaurants, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Whilst out and about, grabbing a hotdog is a great way to re-fuel and sample an iconic New York delicacy. Then the evenings are all about finding a nice place to eat before finding a cosy bar to settle into with a few drinks. Just make sure you plan ahead though as some bars and restaurants are quite spread out.

Time to Take In a Show

When enjoying a short term sojourn in the big apple it is hard to ignore the lure of Broadway and a live show. Some of the greatest productions are on regular rotation so an evening at the theatre could be just the ticket.

Yet when you are on holiday in New York, taking in a show doesn’t just mean the theatre. Madison Square Garden – as well as being the home of the New York Knicks basketball team and the New York Rangers ice hockey side – also has regular shows aimed at everyone, from child-free productions to live music.

Just keep an eye out for the flyers or speak to the many chatty people advertising the various shows – you can’t miss them. With so much to do during a city break in New York you’ll be wishing you booked a longer stay.
