Leonardo Royal Hotel Ibiza & Suites formerly Alua Miami Ibiza

Although the hotel is in a good location we were disappointed on a number of things, the pool area is beautiful but the surrounding area is very slippery so unfortunately we didn't use the pool for that reason. There's is also a safety issue with the fire alarm as it went off many times on different nights so we didn't feel safe or get much sleep during the week. We got to know the night staff very well! The rooms have a lovely view of the bay but are small. The restaurant, the restaurant staff and the food was lovely. It could be a wonderful hotel, but there are problems that need addressing. We reported the issues to Jet 2 but didn't think they were really interested. Unfortunately, we won't be going back.

Only slight criticism regards the room was the lack of storage space but aside from that it was great. We had ajoing rooms so the kids could stay in their own room which was nice! The hotel itself was clean and tiday and the staff were always helpful. The pools were always clean and lounger availability was fine although not many had parosels.Beach access from the pool area or reception was great too. We didn't bother much with the evening entertainment but there was always something on, seating was always available and drinks weren't expensive etc. The restaurant and buffet was good. We went Half Board and were allowed to switch an evening meal for a lunch at no extra cost if we wanted to eat out any evening which was handy. Buffet was as good as any other I've ever seen. The resort itself was relatively small and nice and quiet. Not a massive selection on bars and restaurants but enough to keep things interesting for 10 days. Granny's Bar in the center also had a good selection of live footy on match days which was nice !!!

Quick check-in. Staff were pleasant, polite and gave us lots of info. Our room was a decent size though we were allocated a disabled room. Minimum furniture and not much storage space, 1 drawer, 1 hanging rail and a few small shelves. But we managed. Air conditioning was good not noisy so we were able to use it through the night. Maid service was a bit hit and miss. Towels were changed daily if you left dirty ones on floor. But bed linen was NOT even changed every other day. My husband had a cut lip and got some blood on the pillow case, this was just turned over. The next day the sheets had not been changed nor the pillow case. I found the cleaner and pointed this out to her, they were changed then. I should not need to be chasing cleaning staff if there are marks on bed linen they should be changed. In the bathroom the glasses were not changed for the whole week. We did however get stocks of shower replenished. The pool area was clean and there were plenty of sun beds though it was very cramped. There were not enough umbrellas people were buying their own! Being a couple on our own we took a look at the apartment pool. This would have been great nice and quiet but the only bar close you had to pay. Why I ask if apartment guests can use hotel facilities then could that bar not available for All inclusive guests without payment. All bar staff worked very hard and happy to help with anything they could. There should be self service water available at all bars. The only place to get food was in restaurant, no other bars did food. Breakfast was good plenty to choose from both hot and cold. Though as always it’s difficult to keep hot food hot. Lunch was the same plenty of choice. Afternoon snacks were disappointing just salad and packets of biscuits no cake or scones. Evening meal was again fine always found something to eat. We did find that veal was often referred to as beef. Puddings were great and plenty of them. We always managed to find somewhere to sit. Towards the end of our stay more families with children were arriving and things began to get manic! For instance one breakfast time the child supposed to be seated on the next table to us was practising Kung fu encouraged by one of the ladies sat with him was left unchallenged. Lots more children were racing around the hotel in general. No one stopped them. Finally our Jet2 rep Robbie was great. Always cheerful very helpful and always spoke when he saw you around the hotel.

Cannot fault the hotel or staff or cleanliness etc. Our room was not however as big or as luxurious as expected. We paid for sea view, yes we could see it but other rooms had far better views than ours. My duaghter had superior view and hadnt paid for one. We asked for level five with sea view and quiet area. We had level 4, partial view and quite noisy. cannot request a preferred room number if you wish to return. this i found hard to accept if booking direct with hotel. Overall the hotel was excellent and would def return. The saving of sun beds with towels was very annoying.

The room that we had was tiny, nothing like the picture on Jet2holidays. We complained and they advised there was nothing they could do. Unfortunately we had a room with a conjoining door which meant we could hear every word of the people in the next room. There was about 14 hangers but unfortunately only 1 draw to put clothes in which made it hard to unpack. Food was amazing in the morning, and ok in th evenings and lunch. Sometimes they had some really good bits and sometimes it was pretty boring but they did try and mix it up every night. If you are not All inclusive, would recommend the bar across the road €2 a pint and €6 a pizza.

The hotel was in a very good position on the beach and near to all the bars and restaurants,it was very clean apart from the public toilets which could have been checked more regularly.The staff were very friendly and always smiling,the food was amazing you had a great choice all the time you couldn't fault it(the best we've had in a hotel)the only drawback was that it was very noisy and you couldn't even think (it was that loud)so it did spoil mealtimes sometimes.Our room was small but adequate and had a great view overlooking Es Canar beach,you got free WiFi everywhere, tea and coffee facilities and the safe was included and also had a fridge in the room which was great😄Our rep Robbie was lovely he always came and said hello when he saw us and tried to help when we had a problem with one of the trips we'd booked through him,thanks Robbie for looking after us.The entertainment staff were brilliant.The only drawback of the hotel is that there was hundreds of children (no egsaturating)and they ruled the hotel ,so you couldn't have any relaxation time(not against children but it was overpowering from dawn till dusk.

I booked this hotel to go with my husband and two young children. The hotel was lovely, food was fab and a great selection for kids and adults. They also use well known labels for all inclusive drinks. Entertainment team were absolutely fantastic. Made children and adults feel very welcome and got everyone involved. Would definitely go back!

Stayed at Alua Miami for 6 nights. Hotel very nice, lovely decorated throughout. Room, paid extra for premium room however don’t think it was worth it, for the slightly different decor and kettle (which we never used) decorated lovely and lots of plug sockets and 2 USB sockets. However storage is terrible smal wardrobe with 1 tiny drawer and a few coat hangers, a shelf and a safe. Safe was free to use, which is a good point. Bathroom nice with walk-in rain shower. Tv with English channels. Having known this I wouldn’t have paid for the upgrade as don’t spend long in the room anyway. Food was fantastic, I would say probably the best I’ve had at a hotel in quite a number of years. Loads of choice at each meal, yes the restaurant got very busy at times but just the same at other hotels. Branded drinks on all inclusive which was great too. First time never really had to queue at a bar, although this is probably different in summer holidays. Pool was quite small for the size of the hotel, could rarely get a sun lounger around the pool so spent most of our time at the beach. Just few steps from the hotel to the beach which was great. Es Cana is a very small resort and can tell at one point It was probably very busy with lots going on, I expected more to be honest and was a little disappointed. However had we not had a young child with us we would probably have spent a few nights in the local bars, there are quite a few. We visited Apache bar, €18 for 2 cocktails and a slush, which I thought was quite steep, I expect to pay this in Manchester, not on holiday, would need a lot of spending money if doing this every night. We travelled to Ibiza Town (love that place) on the bus which was easy to use and got the boat back, which was a lovely experience and would recommend. Got to see Cala Llonga and Santa Eulalia on way back. Also got the bus to Santa Eulalia which is a lovely resort and one which I would come back to if ever visiting this side of the island again. Tourist Tax just under €40 for 2 adults for 6 nights, quite steep again and I didn’t realise this, only ever paid it in Costa Brava and there it only cost us €12 for 2 adults for 7 nights. However the hotel was great and would definitely recommend, would stay in an Alua hotel in the future but in a different place.

A lovely, family hotel with friendly helpful staff. A clean restaurant with an excellent choice of food for everyone. Situated in a good position and close to all amenities. The children's play area was well laid out and clean. Would thoroughly recommend.

The hotel was clean,staff very hard working and room with lovely view. The food was good and there was a good variety of food to choose from. Food cooked well. Also plenty of fruit. The room was cleaned everyday and towels changed every day

We stayed in these apartments for the first time, The room was spacious and had the self catering requirements, A kettle,microwave and electric hob, there was no oven thought..we were on the top floor and faced the sea with an amazing view...The staff were very helpful top marks..As there's no music to be played outside after midnight the resort was very quiet...

We've just returned from a 10 night holiday and had a fab time. We stayed in a 1 bed apartment which was a good size with plenty of storage. Felt safe & secure. We were self catering, there are plenty of good restaurants and bars very close. The pool at the apartments was good with no fight for sunbeds. The larger pool at the main hotel was really busy & we seen them queuing for sunbeds in the morning. We didnt use the main pool but the kids splash zone was good with plenty of chairs to sit on. We met people who were all inclusive who said the food was nice & the entertainment was good but we never went as we preferred to be out and about at night. There's dodgem cars and a few other rides right next to the hotel. The beach is on your doorstep and is great. We took a pedalo out & seen dolphins, it was amazing - made my holiday! There's a glass bottom boat trip which was good. Hippy Market on a Wednesday is worth a look but very busy & hot, kids weren't impressed! Local buses are good, worth having a visit to St Elulia & Ibiza town. We also went to San Antonio to watch the sunset, great experience. We had a fantastic holiday, would definitely return to Es Cana and would recommend the hotel.
