The small plaza near the seafront has a small selection of gift shops that sell souvenirs, such as hand-made pottery, and a supermarket for day-to-day necessities. For designer label shopping it’s best to head into the nearby Sant Lluís or Mahón, where you’ll pick up essentials and a few treats.
While there isn't a great deal of activity in S’Algar itself, the rest of Menorca is easily accessible by car. Take a 20-minute drive to the capital, Mahón, and you can see its stunning 19th century fortress, the ancient remains of a prehistoric town and the shimmering waters of Port Mahón.
S'Algar, Menorca
The only bowls club in Menorca is in S'Algar which is open May to October. Go along and watch the member matches when the club meets every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday morning. Outside of those times, you can hire bowls and have a go yourself. You don't have to wear your whites, but flat shoes are essential.
S'Algar, Menorca
There are 50 metres' of visibility in the ocean around S'Algar and lots of colourful fish and marine life. This makes it a prime spot for snorkelling and you can set off from the many bathing platforms. Take it up a notch and sign up for dive trips and guided snorkels at the PADI centre on the seafront.
S'Algar, Menorca
S'Algar is a purpose-built resort and here you'll find mainly hotels and apartment blocks. There isn't a lot going on outside of the complexes and you'll find all the restaurants and bars inside the complexes. In lieu of a beach, S'Algar has lots of bathing platforms that look out onto the sea.
