Iberostar Playa Gaviotas

We went middle of June and it was our first package holiday so weren't sure what to expect. Our flight was late afternoon so we arrived at the hotel by 11pm. The people at reception seemed like they wanted to rush us so we got checked in and then they let us in the restaurant to have something to eat(which wasn't a lot mainly cheese and bread as dinner ends at 9.30). The staff spoke kind of OK English (enough to understand each other) but it is understandable as 90% of their guests are German. Our room had good location and was cleaned daily. There are 2 good sized swimming pools. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Good variety of fresh vegetables, fruit and salads plus there was different type of roast meat every night. The entertainment team was probably the best I've seen so far. Very friendly and always in a good mood smiling chatting to guests,especially the main one Manu who took his time to always stop and talk to us. All staff were overall very friendly, but the only negative that I want to mention is that most of the time people presumed we were German so they would immediately speak to us in German which is fine but it gets annoying eventually. The location of the hotel and the views are to die for. When we arrived we were told that Jandia has one of the best beaches on the island. Its about a 10 min walk down to the beach from the hotel but they charge for sunbeds and an umbrella so we preffered the pool. Last but not least I want to mention the Jet2 reps at the airport who were excellent and very helpful when we arrived and as we were leaving.

Great place to enjoy the sun and sea. Great hotel good choice of food in the all inclusive. Disappointed in the lack of sun beds in the prestige area especially when they had been reserved early in the morning with towels placed on them this was not fair on other guests that had paid the same amount.

I'll keep it brief...booked with Jet2 holidays..will do again...rooms spacious clean and tidy ...hotel is spotlessly clean...staff are friendly and helpful...food and drinks were of a good standard with plenty of choice for even the most fussy of eaters....the hotel overlooks one of the best beaches i have ever been on with great views...evening entertainment was good ..but don't expect West End show quality..take it for what it is and have a laugh....pool area is of a decent size with two pools -there is also a small 'baby pool' with a play area next to it...the only negative was the reserving of sunbeds...the hotel occupants are mainly German...so i expected this and played them at their own game...wasn't up massively early but dropped towels off at about 820 am...i would imagine that this isn't so much of a problem if you visit outside of peak times ...long trousers/jeans required in restaurant on an evening for the men FYI.. I gave it 4 out of 5 because i always think there is room for improvement wherever you go....a quick word of thanks to Ania on reception who sorted some things out for us for the father-in-laws birthday...she is a credit to the hotel and the Iberostar chain...thank-you... .would i return ??...yes most definitely..if you have any burning questions feel free to message me.....

Fantastic location. Loved the hotel and trying to arrange another visit in 6 months time. The staff are really helpful. The rooms are cleaned daily and the maid really took pride in her work. She was lovely and smiling and would tidy our bathroom up and arrange all the bottles neatly. Nice touch! We had a ground floor terrace family superior interconnecting room which was great. There was grandad, me and my husband and two children and we had plenty of space. Plus grandad could have his own space away from noisy kids! The good was delicious and they cater for everyone. The location was great, 2 minute walk down to the beach. Having the ground floor terrace meant we had access to the garden with the double beds and the whirlpool which was great. We found that we were able to get 5 sunloungers by the kids pool quite easily, although how this would be in July or August I can't say. We are trying to rebook for in 6 months time

We had seaview room . The beach beauitful. Very clean beach. Hotel- staff very friendly and clean. Food could of been a bit warmer plenty to choice from. On the bar you help,yourself to wine, beer and champagne first time on all inclusive I've seen this. You can walk in the town along the beach. Lovely resturant and tapas bars.

Food was amazing, steak + lobster to name but a few, full English breakfast, went star prestige room 1224 is amazing, 1222,1223,1225 are equally good with balinese beds, loungers etc.. Own self service bar (named brands) bar + mini bar, this hotel is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC... GO THERE, GO THERE NOW..!!

We came here to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and it lived up to all expectations and more, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A great hotel, stayed in Star Prestige (VIP upgrade), well worth it, we had a suite which was spacious, superb sea views and access to a lovely infinity pool area. Generally plenty of sunbeds but we did have to join the Germans in their own game and reserve fairly early in the morning for prime positions! Food and drink was good, plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Staff were friendly. Would definitely return!
