There’s not one, not two, but five beaches to choose from in Costa Teguise. Palm-lined Playa Bastian’s a popular plot, while the soft sands of Playa Cucharas make it a slice of paradise. Looking for a quiet spot? Playa del Jablillo’s the place to go.
The town square’s a real hub at night. You’ll find a choice of laid-back restaurants serving home favourites and Lanzarote specialities. Choose a seat outside for the best view of the bandstand that’s right in the middle of the square – pitch up for live sets most nights of the week.
The former house and studio of César Manrique, the island’s most famous artist, is a 20-minute drive away. It’s a real vision, with rooms built into underground volcanic bubbles and a public art gallery hanging original Picassos. Flip this on its head at Costa Teguise Waterpark for thrilling flumes and slides.
Costa Teguise, Lanzarote
When the sun goes down, this bustling square full of bars and restaurants is the place to be for locals and visitors alike. Bands play on the live music stand and you can snag some local crafts and traditional produce at the many stalls. Eat, drink and dance in a lively, family-friendly setting.

There are thrills and spills aplenty at this fun-filled waterpark. It's got 3 main groups of slides - of varying steepness - which plunge into the main pool area. Ride the adrenaline-fuelled Kamikaze, or whiz through the tunnels on a tube. For something less energetic, check out the jacuzzi.

Get the everyday essentials at mini-supermarkets dotted around the town, and bring home souvenirs from the bazaar shops you’ll see everywhere. Arrecife is the place to go for serious shopping and it’s just 10 minutes’ drive away – you’ll find household names in town, plus a huge Spar on the outskirts.
