Set your compass toward the Guardilama Mountains. Go off walking or simply snap your camera at the staggering scenery. The old mill of Macher is worth a visit on your travels, too. You can even watch in awe as people paraglide and hang glide around flourishing Famara.
Just 14km from Arrecife, you’ll be well placed to explore Lanzarote’s cool capital. This old fishing village is now a cosmopolitan urban hub. Take a day trip here, but save time for an afternoon in Puerto del Carmen, too. Opt for sea views, lazing by the shore, and fresh fish dishes at sundown.

If you've enjoyed a glass or two of delicious local wine during your stay you can learn all about how it's made on a vineyard tour. Family-run El Grifo is the oldest winery on the island. Explore its fascinating history at the little museum, housed on-site. Finish off with a tipple or two looking out over the vines.
Lanzarote
This vineyard produces a monumental 300,000 litres of wine every year. And the La Geria label produces six different kinds of wine, ranging from dry, semi-sweet and sweet Malvasia. Take in the views while enjoying the latest vintage. It’s recommended that you call ahead to book a tour.

A treat for wine lovers, this is the ideal place to discover your next favourite tipple while enjoying a bite to eat and watching the sunset from the large wooden balcony running along the upper floor. This particular winery or 'bodegas' dates all the way back to the middle of the 18th century.
