What are Cookies?

Similar to other commercial websites, our website utilises a standard technology to collect information about how our website is used by individual computers connected to the internet.

This information is gathered through "Cookies". Cookies are small files of letters and numbers that we put on your computer's hard drive. These small files allow us to distinguish you from other users of our website, monitor website traffic and to personalise the content of the site for you. This ultimately helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and allows us to improve our site going forward.

Please note however that Cookies cannot retrieve any personal data from your hard drive or pass on computer viruses.

What Cookies do we use on our websites?

The Cookies we use are as follows:

  • Essential Cookies - These are essential for the operation of key features of our website, including our ticket basket to allow you to complete your purchase. These Cookies don't gather any information about you that could be used for marketing or remember where you've been elsewhere on the internet, but if you do not successfully make your purchase and you have provided your email address at that stage we will let you know by email to check if we can assist further with your purchase.
  • Analytical/Performance Cookies - These allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors to our website, see where visitors have come to the site from (including if a visitor has clicked on one of our adverts on a partner website, or one of our marketing emails) and the pages they visited, and to see how they navigate and use the website. We use this information to compile reports and to help us improve the way our website works (e.g. by ensuring users are finding what they are looking for more easily) and to determine how successful a marketing campaign is. These Cookies do not collect any information that could identify you. All the information collected is anonymous and is only used to help us improve how our website works.

One of the analytics tools that our website uses is Google Analytics, to learn more about Google Analytics, you can visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/ Our website also uses Universal Analytics (also known as "User ID"), which is part of the Google Analytics service. Universal Analytics is a cookie which enables us to analyse users visits to our website across multiple devices to understand how a user browses and books flights or holidays. For example, if you click through one of our marketing emails on your phone and then click through the same email on your laptop - this would count you as one user, rather than two. This cookie will only collect anonymous data, but if you book a flight, or log into your myjet2 account, it may associate the use with your account. No personal information will be transmitted to Google which could enable Google to identify you. For an overview of privacy at Google, please click here.

  • Third Party/Targeting Cookies - These are Cookies used by:
    • Social network sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), which may use information about your visit to target advertising to you on their websites. Third Party Cookies such as these are set by a domain other than the one being visited by the user.
    • Third-party suppliers and/or advertisers, carefully selected by us, who may use information on your visit so that they can present you with adverts that you may be interested in.
    • Criteo is one of the third parties that we use to help us advertise by placing banners on various internet sites. Criteo places cookies to help us measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign and see how many users have clicked on a particular advert. Criteo may also use cookies to display relevant offers (such as recommendations of products that you might be interested in) when you visit other websites. These cookies do not collect or contain any personal information. Please click here to visit the Criteo privacy policy (although please note that we cannot responsible for any content or use of a third party website).

For further information about different types of Cookies please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

How can you control or delete the Cookies used on our website?

If you would prefer not to receive any Cookies, you can adjust the settings on your internet browser to alert you each time a Cookie is presented to your computer, or you can delete any Cookies that have been stored on your hard drive.

Please note that if you prevent us from placing Cookies on your computer during your visit (including Essential Cookies), or you subsequently delete a Cookie that has been placed, this may effect the functionality of our website and it will not be possible for you to use our website effectively. This will apply to all websites, as well as our own, once cookies are disabled via your browser settings.
