Grand Villa Argentina.

Stayed in this characterful hotel for a week and had a wonderful time. Staff friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent especially pool. Views of old Dubrovnik were spectacular. Breakfasts were amazing and theme dinners were very good value.

We booked this hotel through Jet2 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We contacted the hotel prior to our holiday to advise them of this. When we arrived they had left a bottle of chilled sparkling wine, flowers and a note to wish us a happy holiday. This was a lovely start to our week. We arrived quite early in the season so the hotel was fairly quiet. We had half board and the food was very nice. Our room in the villa was very clean and the bed comfortable. The only problem I had was the hairdryer which was attached to the wall by a flexible tube. It got so hot I had to hold it with a towel. I did report this to reception on departure and they said they would replace it. The hotel is very well positioned near the old town and the harbour which enabled us to easily visit Cavtat and the island of Lokrum by boat. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel. The walk back up to the hotel is fairly steep but there are lots of places to stop and take in the view. We would stay at this hotel again and recommend it for it's position and relaxed atmosphere.

We chose the Grand Villa Argentina because of its location (10 minute walk into the old town) the general reviews and the photos on their web site which are deceptive apart from the photos taken from the terrace and pool capturing the Old Town and sea which are stunning. We stayed in the 'Deluxe Room, Balcony, Sea View' and were disappointed with the room size and although we could see the sea we could see an awful lot more of the outside dining room and roof top. The hotel is clean and tidy although could do with some TLC in parts especially the bathroom. There are no coffee or tea making facility in the room which we expect in any hotel these days especially a five star one. We ate in both restaurants and the food was exceptional as was the service, the staff work very hard and are very attentive. Dubrovnik/Croatia is a beautiful place and apart from the negative comments (don't be put off it's meant to be constructive criticism) we had a fantastic stay, to be honest it wouldn't stop us from going back to the Grand Villa Argentina, in fact it's on our to do list to do again.

When you walk into a five star establishment the five star experience should start however this was not the case with us, it was not until we complained that the service was vastly improved and the staff did everything to make a last few days what it should have been from the start, breakfast choice average and repetitive, bathrooms dated. The old villa, hotel restaurant and grounds and location are certainly five star, needs work on the basic of five star guest hospitality.

Great hotel and the all the staff are really helpful. Great location for the city, as well as beautiful views and sundeck area to relax. Staff very helpful to find sunbeds around the sunbed areas. Excellent bar staff particularly in the Victoria Lounge The hotel is also kept very clean. Fantastic

What a fantastic time we had in this stunning hotel with amazing views of the sea and Dubrovnik. Please make sure you book a sea view room though to avoid disappointment. We were on the 7th floor and the views from our room were just breathtaking. Breakfast is plentiful and the experience at the pool was so relaxing with helpful staff who ensure you will get a bed with towels. Hotel prices are quite expensive but I found Dubrovnik was not cheap. Having said that, it did not detract from having an excellent holiday in this regal looking hotel with friendly staff. Thanks for a great holiday.

An elegant old Italian style hotel. We stayed for one week for a wedding. The wedding was out of this world and the hotel did a fantastic job with everything. 10 minute walk from the old town. Little supermarket close by. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I went to this hotel after seeing it online and it far exceeded our expectations. We were on the 3rd floor and had a fantastic view of Lokrum island. We were in the newer part and the room was large, modern and very clean and the enormous bed was very comfortable. Plenty of L'Occitane toiletries in the bathroom which were replenished every day as were the towels even though we hung them up to be reused. Also each evening two lovely chocolates were delivered by a maid who wished you a restful night! A small but very lovely gesture. We stayed bed and breakfast and the menu is very good. As well as the usual cooked egg, bacon etc, there was also plenty of cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, pastries, pancakes, various breads, cereals and loads more - even a selection of deserts and chilled prosecco! The hotel grounds at the back are wonderful and although steep, are beautifully terraced with many little areas to sit and admire the views over the Adriatic and Dubrovnik Old Town. If the steps prove too much, the lift will take you to the lowest level where the infinity pool is located within a few yards of the sea. It's a 10 minute walk to the Old Town which is absolutely wonderful. So historic with places to eat down what seems like every narrow cobbled street as well as in the main areas. We wished we had booked for a longer holiday and would stay in the hotel again without hesitation.

Relaxing, tranquil and ideal location to explore the city of Dubrovnik both in the day and at night. Rooms have the most amazing view towards the old town. Service was excellent. Overall Highly recommended.
