Agaete

Agaete holidays

This wonderful white town in north west Gran Canaria has got a whole lot going on! From coastal strolls to classic cuisine, there’s no shortage of local culture to dig up. Wind your way around the tangle of Canarian houses – with their wooden balconies – in the centre. It’s tradition at its finest.

Sights for sore eyes

Down the main street, Calle de la Concepción, is a good place to start. Its pristine white church with its ornate façade is a must-see. The gorgeous flower gardens of Tamadaba Natural Park are pretty patches to check out too, along with the popular beach of Playa de Las Nieves.

The full flavour

Bananas, papayas, oranges, lemons and more grow here, so get set to enjoy fabulous fruit – aromas and all! Sit down to even more delights in local restaurants. Wrinkled potatoes and paella are staples, while fish platters of octopus and red mullet are worth a try. ‘Mouth-watering’ doesn’t do it justice!
