Pontedera

Pontedera holidays

One of the larger towns in Tuscany, Pontedera has its place in the Italian history books thanks to being the home of the Piaggio company, makers of the iconic Vespa. The atmospheric centre of Pontedera has all the hallmarks of a classic Italian town.

Moped museum

If you’re in Pontedera, you can’t miss the Piaggio museum. Inside, you’ll see a huge collection of unique Vespas, as well as vintage cars and performance motorbikes. As an added bonus, it’s completely free to enter.

Stroll around town

Pontedera has a pedestrianised centre with cobbled streets and squares lined with boutiques and independent cafés and restaurants. It makes for a pleasant wander around town, and whenever you fancy you can always stop off for an espresso.

Stunning cities nearby

Pontedera puts you in the perfect place to explore the art-filled cities of Tuscany. You could easily drive to see the Renaissance riches of Pisa, Florence and Lucca, as Pontedera is close to the main roads that connect to all three cities.
