Loro Parque has been caring for parrots for over 40 years, and they now have the world’s largest collection of these beautiful birds. Wander through the rope bridges of the Katandra treetops and you’ll see an array of vibrant parrots soaring over your head. There are parrot shows, a parrot museum and even a cute baby parrot station too.
Imagine huge sharks and stingrays gliding gracefully all around you, as you’re submerged beneath more than a million litres of seawater... that’s exactly what to expect at the Loro Parque Aquarium. The hundreds of bright tropical fish are another source of fascination.
Loro Parque has many more animals spread across its expansive parklands. Gaze in wonder at white tigers, see huge mountain gorillas charging through the trees and laugh at the antics of Planet Penguin.
After seeing the amazing animal displays, take time out to relax in the zoo’s four gorgeous gardens. See some of the world’s rarest flowers in the Orchid Garden and check out the variety of prickly plants in the Cactus Garden.
The kids can get stuck into some monkey business of their own at the Kinderlandia children’s playground! They’ll love climbing rope bridges, sliding through the snake chute and even riding the orca rollercoaster.
Aqua Viva is a wondrous NEW exhibition in Loro Parque. Expect to see hundreds of bright and beautiful jellyfish lit up in a dazzling array of colours. With their gliding movements and ghostly shapes, these otherworldly sea creatures are truly unique. Displaying fascinating species from across the world, you may even spot some cute baby jellyfish – a first for European zoos!
Share the celebration of conservation at Loro Parque’s NEW Animal Embassy. Set in an atmospheric African-style thatched roof village by a giant baobab tree, the centre will tell you more about the amazing animals of Loro Parque. Discover the veterinary and clinical care they receive, as well as the pioneering research into the zoo’s parrots.
Loro Parque has recently added two young males to its bachelor group of gorillas, and you can give them a warm welcome! Watch little Kiburi (10) and Ubongo (7) enjoying their new home amongst lush vegetation with a warm climate similar to their natural habitat of Central Africa. Loro Parque’s world-first bachelor group is already helping with the conservation of these wonderful animals.
