Anyone who’s anyone has graced these shores. Think jet-setters from Bridget Bardot and Mick Jagger to Beyoncé and George Clooney – the list goes on. The way to spot an A-lister is to pitch up at a pavement café by the yachts at Vieux Port, order a bowl of moules frites and simply watch. We suggest legendary brasserie Senequier for a sporting chance. Come night-time, try the aptly named VIP Room.
Fashion is big news here so if you want to blend in, think straw bags, sailing shorts, chinos, floaty dresses and leather strappy sandals. And nothing says Saint-Tropez chic like huge sunglasses. The place to show off your new look? The beach. These sandy spots have as much star status as the celebs who frequent them. Check out Pampelonne Beach for the best of the bunch.
There’s a simple side to things too. Just head to leafy Place des Lices to see locals play boules and sip pastis in the shade of the afternoon sun. A twice-weekly Provençal produce market takes place here if you fancy stocking up on the region’s sun-kissed riches. While La Ponche’s cobbles make up the old fishing quarter, perfect for some seriously pretty snaps.

Live jazz is on offer every evening at the piano bar at Monaco's famous Hôtel de Paris. Le Bar Américain oozes charm and elegance and is the perfect place to relax after a long day sightseeing or shopping. Sip a cocktail in one of the worn leather armchairs and take in the sea view from the windows.

Experience the thrills and spills of F1 racing as the streets of Monte Carlo are transformed into a racetrack for 4 adrenaline-fuelled days in May. The Monaco Grand Prix is the event to be seen at, but if you're not in town to catch the chequered flag, it's still worth catching a glimpse of the course.

If you own a giant yacht, this is the place to keep it during your stop-off in Monaco. If like most of us, you're just visiting the area, it's a great place to spend an afternoon, taking in the spectacular schooners and enjoying a bite at the waterside restaurants.
