Potter around the pretty paths of Beloussi and explore what lies in the hills. You’ll have vantage points that peer down on the coast below, plus glorious views of the dense greenery. If you’d rather laze by the shore, pick yourself out a spot on the sands of the main beach.
Turn the volume up a notch with a trip to Tsilivi. You’ll find a similarly laid-back pace to this resort, but it’s got a larger beach and bigger choice of restaurants. Sample local ingredients and fresh catches of the day in a family-run taverna. Why not stay after dark and hit the bars?
Zante
Swim the tranquil waters of Porto Limnionas. You’ll have to take a trek through vineyard-strewn hills on Zante’s wild west coast to seek out this hidden gem. Crystal-clear waters make it a top spot for snorkelling and the secluded location means you could have the heavenly cliff-backed beach here all to yourself. Bliss.
Zante
Zante's patron saint Dionysios of Zakynthos is revered in Orthodox Christianity for his spiritual journey to the Holy Land. His body is buried at the Church of Dionysios. Although he died in the 16th century, his remains are supposed to be fully intact and emit a fragrance of frankincense and flowers. You can visit his tomb at the church today.
Zante
These magnificent caves are one of the island's most famous attractions, and see thousands of visitors each year. Anything that enters the water in the cave appears to turn bright blue, including swimmers! You can visit by boat – some even have glass bottoms, which are perfect for watching marine life below.
