Sagres Fortress

Sagres Fortress

Dating back to the 15th century, the fortress was built to protect the land from North African pirates. Today, only the walls and entrance archway remain but there are plenty of informative signs dotted around the site which explain how it used to look. Pay a small entrance fee and you’ll get to explore the cobbled battlements which house ancient cannons.
