Roman Amphitheatre

Roman Amphitheatre

This sunken amphitheatre is nestled between and underneath Via Etnea and Via Neve. Its oval-shaped viewing arena was used for displays and performances such as gladiator fights. It’s relatively hidden away so keep your eyes peeled or you might just miss it! To see it from above and appreciate its shape and size, head up to Piazza Stesicoro, the neighbouring public square.
