Long before it was a holiday destination, Pineda de Mar was the location of a Roman settlement and nearby you can visit an aqueduct dating from those times, with four of its arches still intact. It's believed that the aqueduct supplied a large villa with water for irrigation in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
