Castillo de la Luz

Castillo de la Luz

The oldest fortification in the province, the ‘Castle of Light’ defended the harbour for centuries, when ships brought back precious cargo from the Americas. Dating from 1494, it has been declared a national historic monument, and houses art and history exhibits. The lovely gardens are a relaxing place to stroll.
