Engenho Velho Museum

Madeira is known for its rum and you can taste it here at the sugar cane mill. It produces barrels of the stuff during sugar cane season (March-May). There’s a 19th-century steam engine, a still and bottling facility, plus, of course, plenty of opportunities to taste the rum and buy some to take home.
