Ostrog Monastery

Ostrog Monastery

This Serbian Orthodox monastery is set high up on the Ostrog Cliffs against an almost vertical backdrop. It was founded by Saint Basil in the 17th century, and his body is enshrined in the lower church, while the upper church is set in a cave. The road up is hair-raising, but the serenity and the view are unforgettable.
