Forte Lorenese

Forte Lorenese

Visit this city centre monument for a laugh – it’s now home to the Museum of Satire and Caricature. It was built in the eighteenth century by the Lorraine dynasty to defend the town from attack and see what ships were heading into port. The fort was also used as a warehouse for the precious cargo of marble.
