St Donatus Church

St Donatus Church

The odd shape of this church, rounded and with tall columns supporting it, is down to Donatus of Zadar who began construction in the ninth century. It’s called a ‘centralised’ design and is a fine example of the Carolingian period of architecture. It is a very rare structure, having survived the Mongolian invasion.
