Stretching 5km along the coast, San Pedro‘s stunning beach has Blue Flag status for its safety and cleanliness making it the ultimate spot for topping up your tan. You can also grab a refreshment or bite to eat from the bustling palm-lined promenade of shops, bars and cafés.
The Old Town of San Pedro doesn’t just offer old Spanish shops and cafés, but also some of the best tapas bars in the region. For a taste of this traditional dining, head to Alfredo’s Restaurant or La Bodega del Cantinero.
Just 10km west of Marbella and minutes away from the Sierra de Ronda mountain range, San Pedro has plenty of opportunities for a daytrip. So whether you fancy a night out on the Golden Mile or a hiking adventure, the choice is yours.
Costa del Sol
Sprinkled with colourful flowerbeds and with curved wooden walkways, Bulevar San Pedro Alcantara is an ideal place to take an afternoon stroll. Kids can swing and climb their way across the many play areas, handily dotted along the boulevard, and the El Guino bar is a chilled place to stop for a pre-dinner aperitif.
Costa del Sol
Once the capital of Islamic Spain, Cordoba is full of treasures and the grand arches of the Great Mosque is the jewel in the crown. Other highlights include Alcazar, a fortress built by the Christians, the Calahorra Fort, which guards the Roman Bridge and the ancient Jewish Synagogue, now a museum.
Costa del Sol
The dramatic, five-kilometre long Rock of Gibraltar stands tall off the Costa del Sol, featuring in many a sea view. A British overseas territory, it’s home to red pillar-boxes, English pubs, bookmakers and also a thriving population of wild Barbary macaque monkeys. Good for a day trip.
