Hotel Piramide Salou & PortAventura Theme Park

The medplaya piramide hotel was clean and comfortable. We went in June which was good as the hotel was not busy. There was only 1 bar open, between the pool and the evening entertainment room which would have caused a problem if there were more people there. One downside was that the sun didnt get to the pool until lunchtime (12ish). There are sunbeds at the back which were in the sun all morning though and as it wasn't busy we were able to switch between the two places (it would be a problem if busier). Food was as expected - there was a good selection and there was show cooking. Everything was less hot than we would have liked but there was a microwave which we used just to ping for a minute and have a hot meal. There was plenty of salad and fruit and desserts. Drinks were good - san miguel in the all inclusive :-) Cocktails out of a mixed bottle but they were good all local spirits were available. We brought a bottle of pink gin from the nearby supermarket for 7 euros and just got lemonade on the all inclusive for a couple of evenings. The entertainment staff were absolutely fantastic! There was something to do throughout the day and evening and this was adapted to the weather (i.e. indoor quiz when we had a bit of rain rather than outdoor stretching). They really made our holiday enjoyable. The location of this hotel was great too.... short walk to the beach and shopping mall/walkway. 10 euros for a taxi to portaventura (we walked back). Roadhouse was close as is uncle Sams for food. All in all we had a great holiday - i wouldn't stay here in peak season as it would be too busy but for a cheap weeks get away in school time it was great.

Nice hotel. Reception helpful and friendly.Restaurant clean, helpful staff, food not a great choice, but always something to try. Why can they not fry the bacon instead of boiling it ?Bar staff very ignorant unless you were Spanish. No system for being served in turn, just turn up and hope the one bar staff picks you out of the crowd. They are very slow, unless you are paying.Room. Kept nice and clean by friendly staff.THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL.

Lovely hotel, nice size room cleaned every day, pool area nice staff nice only down fall was when we got there are room wasn't ready so had to sit around in are jeans for a couple of hours. Snacks/ food was nice, could do with more staff on at breakfast.

Briliant time entertainment as good as always , 3rd year in a row. Bar staff brilliant Teresa and rest of staff so helpful and always so overworked! No idea why the bars had been moved around meaning queues at main bar while fun pub (cocktails only) was empty. Kids entertainment great and night time shows as good as you get Torres/Sergio etc superb

This was a lovely hotel in a central (but not too central) location. The food throughout our stay was of a really high standard. It was a great hotel for families with children in particular. The entertainment team were excellent.

When bathroom towels changed 3 sets always left when 4 people staying in room! Also, no changing room made available on day of departure. Room was kindly offered by the parents of our daughter's friend.

Pool area very dirty on arrival we where there 3 days before it was cleaned hosed down but not swept sun beds had bird poo on them (.would have liked my children to walk bare footed) The life guard was doubling up as pool area cleaner and tidy up,not good. We spoke to the rep about it and the next day it was tided up and finally swept by a new member of staff. The food was good not very hot at times so we stuck to the grilled food. The staff were great just not enough of them the management need to employ more staff . Bedrooms were a good size a bit tired needs a refurb . The outside is not appealing on first impression desperately need painting . Waited half and hour to get booked in again lack of staff . Entertainment staff were lovely. Night times children were allowed to play football right next to were the entertainment was so very noisy and ball kept coming over to the table and chair area . Would not return 2/7/2016

this is the first time we have stayed at a four star hotel have to say only thing that was four star was the staff have stayed at other medplaya hotels and the food choice was much better in 3 star hotels room cleaned every day entertainment was good activities ok

Hotel very good, but some cleaning not up to standard expected in communal areas i.e. toilets. Food not of a very good standard, catering mainly for spanish visitors at this time of year. All staff very helpful, and entertainment excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, but beware that it caters for the pensioners of spain for their government sponsored holidays until end of May.
