Show on Map

A lively destination with a gorgeous beach, Gumbet is full of sociable sunshine lovers.

Beach heaven

You know your holiday’s started when you look out over the beautiful bay at the shimmering turquoise waters. Gumbet’s calm bay location makes it perfect for soaking up the sunshine or taking a refreshing dip in the Aegean Sea.

Party all night

From couples to groups of friends, most people are here to party – and you won’t leave disappointed. There’s a relaxed feel compared to nearby Bodrum, and the fun usually carries on until the early hours. For families, there’s a good selection of pubs in Gumbet with entertainment and karaoke.

Frolic on the beach

Afternoons are all about the beach, so grab a sunbed and join in the fun. You won’t have to stray too far for snacks and drinks as many of the Gumbet bars send their waiters over to you. If you’re feeling active, jump on a banana boat or jet ski and show off your moves.

Insider Tip

Not keen on tan lines? Ask your hotel staff to point you towards the topless beach nearby, and don’t forget your sun cream!

Best beaches

The picture-perfect horseshoe bay is a lovely stretch of soft sand. Get up early to enjoy perfect morning views after a big night out. The calm, shallow waters make for safe family swimming, and for thrill seekers there’s parasailing, diving, jet skiing, banana boats and more.

Top sights

If you fancy a spot of culture, Bodrum city is only 10 minutes from Gumbet by car. There are photo opportunities galore on the battlements of the medieval Castle of St Peter. Below the castle you’ll find maritime treasures in the underwater archeology museum. Look out for the ancient theatre on the road between Gumbet and Bodrum.

Out and about

One of the most popular activities is a boat trip around the bay where you can jump off for a cheeky swim or snorkel. For families and fun-lovers, the aqua park is always a good day out. Or grab your passport and take a boat trip further afield to the nearby Greek island of Kos. Two countries ticked off on one holiday!

Eating and drinking

You won’t have to stray too far for a lunch as there’s a choice of restaurants, pubs and bars along the beach. Take your pick from Italian, Mexican, Indian, traditional Turkish and good old British food.

There’s a nice selection of souvenir shops in Gumbet for gifts for your friends back home. If you’re looking for something extra special, it’s worth the short trip to Bodrum where Turkish markets are held most days.

After a little siesta, get yourself pampered and preened for a night of drinking, dancing and meeting new friends. There’s every style of pub, bar and nightclub to choose from in Gumbet. If you want to crank it up a notch, jump in a taxi for a big night out in nearby Bodrum.
