Aphrodite herself is said to have risen from the seas along the shores of Paphos. You can see why she picked the spot – turquoise waters lap against golden sands, with a backdrop of dazzling limestone cliffs. It really is a beautiful place to explore at, so stay a while.

Ancient attractions

Historic ruins are all around you here in Paphos, from the Tombs of the Kings to the Temple of Apollo over towards Limassol. In Amathus Bay, you’ll find what’s left of the royal city that was once home to the children of the mythical hero, Heracles. It’s a passport to the past.
