Siesta Mar

We really enjoyed our stay at The Siesta Mar, apartments were very clean and spacious with a very large comfortable bed, there was air conditioning units in the bedroom, we were give a 2 bedroom apartment although there was only 2 of us so very spacious. Pool area was clean and you could always get a sunbed in the shade or sun, with very pleasant staff Apartments were very close to all the lovely bars and restaurants in Cala en Porter, I would definitely go back

Great staff clean central. If you are not mobile its difficult as beech is at the bottom of lots of steps but there is a mini train most amazing views ever . Entertainment hit and miss but ok. ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... .......... .. ...

I would visit siesta mar apartments again In the future. We had a great holiday here. However I would make sure all my valuables were locked up. I left a dress ring on my bedside table and it disappeared. It wasn’t valuable, but it was a nice ring, I didn’t want to complain because it would be futile. But i will learn from this.

lovely apartments staff friendly food average but plenty of restaurants near by Sa Paissa is great value, the pools are great, steps 180 of them down to the beach which is lovely, a train can take you back up, apartments have no lifts so if needed book a ground floor apartment entertainment is great, would go back at this time of the year

We enjoyed our first holiday abroad as a family at this hotel. Our boys aged 7 & 4 loved the pool area, water slides and were spoilt by having their own seperate bedroom in the apartment. The apartment was clean and functional with everything we needed. The hotel provided dish cloths washing up liquid and shower gels. The only downside was we only had spanish channels on the tv and all sunloungers were all reserved before 8.30am! The resort is quiet and the trek down to the beach was worth it.

APARTMENTS are beginning to show their age with some steps crumbling etc. Food was basic but okay. Security was okay Pool area not enough sunbeds AND TOO MANY PEOPLE PUTTING STUFF ON THEM THEN NOT BEING THERE FOR MOST OF DAY. Pool was good except puddle of green algae by steps in and out.(very slippy for children running around). Staff very helpful.

Had apartment next to pool, clean and spacious. Went with my 2 children and niece, everyone had a great time. Beach was close by, and good excercise down the steps and up again at the end of the day. Good sevice from the staff, very friendly and pointed us in the right direction for the caves and entertainment in the evenings. Pleanty of nice restaurants close.

We were not reminded of the check out time by anyone. On the day of departure, they arranged a taxi for us to go out. When we were relaxing in a beach, we were told to rush immediately to vacate the room. We asked for a one hour extension and our jet2Holidays representative agreed. However, when we were vacating the room, the receptionist allowed the new customer to the resort, informing our apartment number. The new customer came straight to our apartment and started abusing us verbally. She threatened to post our photo on the social media and spoil our name and image. She did took a photo of us in her mobile. We did not speak to her. My wife and children were in tears. I went to the resort reception and asked for the Manager to explain this incident. The receptionist twice told us that he was busy. I could not understand why they let the customer inside the resort and why the customer was given my apartment number. The resort failed to explain the reason. We vacated the apartment after filing a written complaint about this incident. Never again.

I visited the Siesta Mar II with my wife and two children ( aged 15 & 5 ) . Upon arrival we were allocated room 42 which was a ground floor apt just yards away from the pool area. It had a spacious terrace with table & chairs, a good size living area with open plan kitchen. The kitchen had all we needed ( fridge, microwave, 2 hob cooker, kettle, toaster ...) . The bedrooms were clean and spacious with big comfy beds. The only let down was the bathroom. It was in need of some TLC. Tiles were cracked, the extractor fan not working but the shower was good enough. Overall we were very pleased with the accommodation. Worth noting though there is no AIRCON, just ceiling fans, and being on ground floor I felt the need to lock up doors and windows so it did get stuffy. The pool area was very good. there were always sunloungers and it had a good "middle " pool which was just right for my 5 year old to play in . We were SC but ate here a couple of times and the pizzas were very good. Staff were friendly and happy to help. A short walk to a lovely beach. Note though that it is down 180 steps to the beech. Lovely clear sea, shallow and great for playing and swimming in. The resort is quiet but there is great entertainment just up the road 6 nights a week and there are plenty of places to eat. Overall everyone in our party enjoyed it and we would return

Long may Cala n'Porter remain relatively undiscovered! Albeit we were there in June before the July/August rush, it gave the perfect balance of a quiet coastal village but with enough tourism to cater for a plethora of options to eat out, shop for food and playgrounds for children. I cannot speak highly enough of Siesta Mar as accommodation if you're looking for a family orientated get away, with spacious apartments, three pools, some slides - and most importantly, 100m to the restaurant strip and 200m to the beach (the other way). No entertainment at Siesta Mar is well balanced with the hotel they 'twin' with just 60m up the road - which provides almost nightly singing entertainment from 10pm (local time). This works perfectly, as you get the best of both worlds for a quiet hotel and local entertainment if you want it. Cala n'Porter is only 15 minutes from the airport - perfect after the 2h20 (ish) flight with a two year old - but we were honestly staggered about how beautiful and 'unaffected' the beach cove area was. Expectedly pricey to get your sunlounger and two beds for the day (20 odd euro) - but plenty of amenities once your there to make a day of it. Went in early June; one cloudy day at 25 but six other days into the thirties. Staff in the whole village couldn't do anything more; Siesta Mar's were helpful and polite. Started the trip approaching locals with my faltering Spanish - but their natural response is to expect English/German tourists so you could go the whole week without any further language skills (if that was your preference). It was only day 2 when my partner and I (and little girl) said we'd all come back without question - I'd be staggered if we didn't return within the next few years.

Pros: Fantastic pool area, spacious apartments, great staff, good location Cons: Apartments very basic, no air con, dated bathrooms, poolside bar quite expensive and drinks served in plastic glasses Cala n porter was a beautiful place and really enjoyed staying there and the beach was stunning! Only downside of the area was the poor quality of all the restaurants and very expensive. Found ourselves going into the capital of Menorca ( Mahon) which was only 20mins away on the bus more and more to eat out where food was amazing and food and drink surprisingly very inexpensive. Would recommend staying in Cala n porter but probably wouldn't go back here and look at somewhere else on the island.
