Access - 50m from the water taxi to the airport. Breakfast - fabulous selection. Service - everyone very friendly and helpful. Room - clean and comfortable, overlooking the canal. Other - a secure room to leave luggage after check out.

Stayed at Ala Hotel recently for a short break in Venice. Hotel is perfectly positioned, only minutes walk from St Marks and less than a minute from Santa Maria Giglio vaparetto and Alilaguna stop, meaning easy access to water transport to get around Venice and also to and from the airport. Our room (244) was quite small, particularly the bathroom, but fine for a short stay. The breakfast was adequate but there wasn’t a vast choice. I would recommend this hotel just because of its location.

The hotel is situated close to the Santa Maria del Giglio water stop. This central position means you can easily walk to all parts of Venice. I stayed there because I had booked two performances at the nearby La Fenice opera house.

Very nice clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast was very good with lots of choice.,The reception area, breakfast room and bar area have very nice decor and again very comfortable, The staff were very helpful. The hotels location was very good both for the boat transfer and for getting out and about, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The only thing I think the hotel could improve on is by having proper cups instead of polystyrene ones and cartons of milk instead of powdered milk sachets In the bedrooms.

We spent 3 hours walking around Venice to find the lovely hotel but when we found it we realised we were actually a stones throw from st,Marcs square and right in the hub of the action. The room was lovely with wooden shutters which when we opened in a morning was magical letting in the sunshine and the sound of tourists enjoying finding their way around the wonderful city. Amazing stay.

Hotel Ala is a lovely hotel in a great location, very close to St Mark's Square. A lovely old building which has been modernised but retains lots of interesting features. Our room was very clean, so was the bathroom. We asked for a double bed and were pleasantly surprised to get one, not 2 singles pushed together, a very comfortable bed too. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, hot and cold food. If we go to Venice again we will definitely stay there again and we would recommend it to anyone.
