Murano is a series of pretty islets, linked by bridges and set in Venice's lagoon. It's easy to get to as it's on the main waterbus circuit, and is a hub of artisanal crafts. The island is famous for its glass making and at the New Murano Gallery you can watch glass blowing and pick up some souvenirs.
