The Mar Menor is the sheltered inland lagoon between La Manga and the mainland. Float by the shore or swim in the depths. The Mar Menor’s calm waters and gently sloping beaches have made it an international centre for water sports, but they also mean it’s perfect for young families.
If you’re a sports fan, the luxurious golf resort La Manga Club might ring familiar, with its three magnificent 18-hole championship courses. The club also boasts five international-standard football pitches at its stadium about 10km inland, and hosts winter and pre-season training camps for top clubs and national teams.
La Manga, Costa Calida (Alicante)
Go exploring in the city of Cartegena, a natural harbour inhabited for thousands of years. From the castle you can see the wharf and its luxurious ships, the Roman streets, and the plaza that was once the home of an ancient mosque. It's a great area for hiking, or for diving to explore what lies under the water.
La Manga, Costa Calida (Alicante)
This beautiful regional park is made up of salt ponds and dunes. On a leisurely stroll here you might spot flamingos and other rare birds that live in this specially protected wildlife area. The salt mines and local fishing spots in the park give a peek into the area's fascinating history.
La Manga, Costa Calida (Alicante)
After dark, the terraces light up the main strip of La Manga with revellers who want to dance under the stars. Clubs like Pacha, Djota’s or Koine open their doors for night owls who want to indulge in the night-time delights of the area. The vibe is lively and welcoming, and you could end up dancing under the stars.
