A history-lovers haven
Being such an attractive island, Jersey first set up its coastal defence in 1204 with Gorey Castle. Thankfully, it’s a sight that’s lost none of its power, and you can gaze upon shimmering waters from its silvery turrets that rise over the hillside. Incredibly, the 17th-century Elizabeth Castle is even more breathtaking.
Jersey justifies its reputation as a richly forested island, with meadows in every shade of green casting deep tones into the countryside. The island’s year-round temperate climate is also perfect for blossoming flowers. Its breathtaking beauty means there’s loads of photo opportunities – so keep a camera at the ready!
