Unlock layers of history

This little town is home to a whole lot of history. In fact, it’s the very place where the island’s longest and largest battle took place during World War II. You can visit the German Cemetery, before heading to Tholos Tomb, a burial chamber dating back to the ancient Minoan era.

Chill out on the beach

Wide sandy Maleme Beach has ample room for you to spread out and relax in the Cretan sunshine. If you’ve got time to play with, make for Balos Beach, one of the island’s most beautiful spots thanks to its unspoilt aquamarine waters and soft white sands.

Day trip to Chania

Dedicate a day to discovering beautiful Chania while you’re in this neck of the woods. The Venetian port town is a stunner, with a warren of cobbled streets, pastel-hued architecture and a 16th century lighthouse to discover. Enjoy sundowners at the buzzy waterfront and drink in the scenery – just wow.
