Sunbathe and sightsee
Golden grains blanket Elounda Beach, with loungers lined up ready for you to relax. A little further out you’ll find two more beaches – peaceful Driros Beach and pebbly Plaka Beach. But you can mix sunbathing with sightseeing here. Venture to Spinalonga Island, a former leper colony. On a calm day, in the water between the islands, you can spot the ruins of the ancient city of Olous.
Nights on the town
Elounda’s got a real vibe about it when the sun goes down. The harbour and neighbouring square is where you’ll be met by lively Greek tavernas and friendly bars.
