Nikiti is 13km away and is well worth a visit. Talk a stroll along the seafront promenade or check out the Sofronios Basilica with its mosaic floor and magnificent marble columns. Dating back an incredible 1600 years, it’s not open to the public, but you can still admire the beautiful design from afar.
A mesmerising mix of ancient architecture, quaint cobbled streets and gorgeous greenery, the remarkable village of Parthenonas is an absolute must for history buffs. Top sights include the 19th century church of Agios Stefanos, and the folklore museum.
