A fashionable centre
Part of the ‘Golden Triangle’, Almancil is in a privileged space. If you’re looking for somewhere swanky with a bit of history and culture thrown in, you’re in the right place. Upmarket restaurants and traditional seafood digs are dotted around. Check out the detailed blue ceramic tiles inside Igreja de São Lourenço, too.
There’s plenty to do in the water or on dry land. Quinta do Lago is a winner for golf and water sports, but Almancil isn’t far from go-karting tracks, horse riding stables and tennis courts. Any football fans? You can even visit the Stadium of Algarve, which hosted some Euro 2004 matches.
