Text
Sprinkle a bit of magic on your getaway in Camara de Lobos. Sitting pretty on Madeira’s southern shoreline, this traditional terracotta-topped town is bursting with history and tales from a time gone by. We only have to travel back to the 1950s for one of the most well-known, when Sir Winston Churchill famously painted here!

A rainbow of colour

Boats striped with ochre yellows and rose reds speckle the beautiful way, creating a spectacular scene against the rolling green hillside behind. Add in the wonderful whitewashed houses and fabulous floral displays and that’s a town in full colour right there.

Fun in Funchal

When Madeira’s fun-filled capital is just 11km away, a day trip to Funchal is definitely on the cards. Grand botanical gardens, cool and quirky museums, arty extravaganzas and the magnificent main square mean your days here can be as action-packed or low key as you like.
