Benidorm Holidays

Show on Map

With fantastic value, and what might just be the best beaches in Spain, it’s not surprising that people of all ages keep coming back to Benidorm.

Beaches large and small

Benidorm clocks up 6 kilometres of golden, sandy beaches, with the two biggest being Levante and the slightly quieter Poniente. There’s also a small beach at the foot of the old town and La Cala at the end of Poniente.

Fun for everyone

From beach playgrounds to thrilling theme parks like Terra Mitica and water parks like Aqua Natura, Benidorm is great for keeping kids – and adults – amused. And if it’s nightlife you’re after the clubs, discos and cabarets at Benidorm Square won’t disappoint.

A town of 2 halves

The big, bold face of Benidorm is well known, but this resort actually started life as a village – and it’s got a lovely old town to prove it. Take a wander and you’ll find quaint cobbled streets, the blue-domed Church of San Jaime and plenty of tucked-away shops and tapas bars that give an authentic taste of Spain.

Insider Tip

Make a day of it when you venture out of Benidorm – you can combine a trip to the pretty waterfalls of Algar with a visit to the mountain village of Guadalest, with its castle ruins and original 12th-century jail.

Best beaches

Lavante Beach is the liveliest of the lot: it’s got everything – rafts, diving boards, watersports from waterskiing to parasailing, and there’s even skydiving. The beach is backed by bars and cafés where you can relax and admire the amazing sand sculptures.

Top sights

Once the site of a castle, the Placa de Castell is built on a headland that separates Lavante and Poniente. You’ll get a fantastic view of Benidorm and some great photo ops from this pretty blue and white square and viewing platform – plus you can listen to the musicians playing in the square.

Out and about

Aqualandia waterpark is a great day out. Zoom down the Big Bang watershoot, jump around in the wave pool, and let the kids exhaust themselves on the Adventureland slides. Next door to Aqualandia is Mundomar marine park, where you can catch dolphin shows and meet pelicans, flamingos, parrots and other exotic animals.

Eating and drinking

From British classics to curry to authentic Spanish cuisine, you can take your pick in Benidorm. There are restaurants to suit every budget, and you can find great deals like €1 a pint offers. If you want to eat like a local, head for Tapas Alley in the heart of the old town. Here you’ll find a street of restaurants serving tasty little tapas snacks.

Shopping

Leather goods, especially bags and shoes, are the things to buy here – go to Passeig de la Carretera for a good selection. You’ll also find some very sweet baby clothes in shops dotted around town. For hand-made keepsakes, try the night market in the old town, which sells crafts like jewellery and pottery.

Nightlife

Benidorm buzzes at night with Brit bars, shows and clubs ready to entertain you. There are sports and karaoke bars with every theme under the sun, from Hawaiian to rock ‘n’ roll, or you can treat yourself to a meal and a spectacular dance show at the Benidorm Palace. For serious clubbing, head to the nightspots along the Avenida Communitat Valencia.
