About Sozopol
Image
Text
As one of the oldest cities on Bulgaria’s Black Sea Coast, Sozopol is not to be missed. It’s an ancient fishing village that’s transformed over the years into one of the country’s most sought-after destinations, without the bustling crowds of the bigger resorts like Sunny Beach and Nessebar. It’s traditional Bulgaria at its best.

It’s a tale of two halves

Split into the Old Town and the new part of town known as ‘Harmanite’, Sozopol offers the perfect spot for you, no matter what your mood. Head to the Old Town for authentic streets and a true taste of life here or check out the modern part of town that’s brimming with modern hotels and lively bars and restaurants.

Old Town treats

Strolling through the cobbled streets of the old town will feel like you’ve stepped back in time. There’s a romantic atmosphere that flows throughout the quaint restaurants and quirky souvenir shops that you’re bound to fall in love with. Don’t forget to look up and see the wood-panelled houses that date back to the 18th century.

Duo of brilliant beaches

You’ve got a choice of two sandy shores in Sozopol. Harmani Beach has a lively atmosphere and beach bars but if a relaxed setting is more your bag, Central Beach by the Old Town will be ideal. It’s a secluded spot where you can relax on the sands or swim in the warm waters.
