Time-worn temples
History buffs will be in their element here in Paestum, originally called Poseidonia, with three of the world’s best-preserved Greek temples dedicated to the Greek goddesses – Hera and Athena. If you want to find out more, Paestum Museum is near the entrance of the site and houses a fab collection of artefacts.
Enjoy the coastline
Along with historical landmarks and stunning scenery, Paestum also shows off some brilliant beaches. And unlike its coastal neighbours, you won’t struggle to find a spot on the sand. So grab a good book, throw down your towel and get ready to embrace the sunshine.
A UNESCO-stamped National Park
Paestum is tucked away right in the heart of the Cilento National Park, which means you’re just stone’s throw away from unspoiled natural landscapes and traditional villages. Here, you’ll find hiking trails, local restaurants, beaches and much more.
