Formed by a volcanic eruption around 890 thousand years ago, the São Vicente Caves need to be seen to be believed. Weave your way through the well-lit tunnels, taking in crystal-clear pools and staggering stalactites along the way. At the end of the tour, there’s the Volcano Centre where you can delve deep into the science behind the caves.
