Laganas boasts the longest beach on the island. The 5km stretch of rose gold sand shelves gently into the sea, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely dip. Keep your eyes peeled for the loggerhead turtles – these regulars come to nest here during July and August.
Laganas likes to rival the elite coastal nightspots of Spain when it comes to after-hours fun. Its mile-long party strip is home to state-of-the-art clubs, where international DJs fill the bills for the whole of summer. But whenever you go, stay up until dawn and make the most of Laganas.
Laganas, Zante
Laganas shares its beach with Kalamaki and you can access it either from the road or by walking along the sand from the other town. The fine sands of the beach are covered in thousands of sunbeds and the odd turtle bathing in the sun. There are showers and many bars and restaurants nearby.
Laganas, Zante
This club is owned by ‘Gaz’ from TV's Geordie Shore. With a huge, open-air layout, there's a big stage for DJs who are brought in from all over the world. There is a pool and bar with private cabanas, luxury beds and sun loungers. As the day moves on the scene turns to some of the best deep house music on the island.
Laganas, Zante
There are hundreds of shops in Laganas selling everything from groceries with local and even British brand foods, to souvenir shops. You can find more luxurious goods too, like jewellery, leather handbags and sandals and designer clothes. Stop off in the shade somewhere and try sweet pastries from one of the bakeries.
